Family Business
We grew up in a big, eccentric family that prioritized fun and growth over what the neighbors thought. Our mother was an educator who was known for loving all her kids and for her over-the-top nature. Our father is a physician turned Dad-Of-The-Year who always has a spreadsheet or dad joke ready for any situation. It is with this background of hard work and inherent silliness that we invite you into The Umbrella Center family.
Diversity StatementThe Umbrella Center is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in which all employees are respected, supported, and valued. We believe that our strength lies in the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents of our team members, and we strive to create a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization.
This commitment is reflected in our policies, practices, and daily operations, and is fundamental to ethical and effective service delivery.
We acknowledge and respect the Kiikaapoi land on which our organization operates, and we honor the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities of our staff, clients, and community members. We are dedicated to providing culturally responsive care and maintaining an environment of dignity and respect for all individuals, regardless of creed, religion, language, or country of origin.
The Umbrella Center provides equal access to services and reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws and ethical standards. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, religion, or source of payment for care.
We are committed to ongoing education, staff training, and continuous evaluation of our diversity, equity, and inclusion practices to ensure accountability and meaningful improvement.
